About

Hello, my name is Christine Byrne and I would like to thank you for considering Wildcat Creek Longarm Quilting as your longarm quilting service. I live just outside of Lafayette, Indiana along Wildcat Creek. I provide computerized quilting services with a Handi-Quilter Fusion and ProStitcher system.

My mother taught me to sew when I was a little girl. My first projects were things for my dolls. Shortly afterwards I learned embroidery and then cross stitch and soon every other type of needlework you can imagine. I also like to weave, spin and knit. I have studied historic textiles for many years and have worked part-time in the textiles department at Conner Prairie Living History Museum for the past five years.

Outside of a few small projects in the 90s, I have been quilting continuously for the past eleven years. I have always loved quilts. I still have and love the crazy quilt that covered my childhood bed. I believe looking at all those different fabrics for years is what inspired my life-long love of pattern and texture. My quilt was one of those heavy tied quilts that make you feel like you are being hugged. It has been loved so much it has become somewhat fragile so I don't use it anymore, but I've left instructions with my family that this one is going with me when my number is called. I'll use it then.

I look forward to working with you, and I am always happy to answer any questions while collaborating on your quilting design. My goal is to create something that meets both your vision and your budget for your project.
